Performance Alley in Daytona Bike Week, 2001

After meeting some key figures in the US industry, we were invited to Performance Alley in Daytona Bike Week, 2001. It was almost too good to be true…amongst the great of the industry, and welcomed as an (almost!)equal. Many thanks to our 2001 hosts, Dave ‘the look’ Perewitz’ at Cycle Fab, and Tom Pirone of Total Performance (TP Engineering). Dave has painted up his customary storm on this outstanding bike of Bert Baker, the developer of 6-Speed transmissions, and the revolutionary right hand drive transmission pictured here.
We fitted Dave and Berts bikes with Flo-Tec Intakes. Dave’s bike, which we’ll be featuring shortly, has a Total Performance 107″ running a 42mm Mikuni. Berts is a hot daddy street rod S&S 103″er on 110 octane fuel, with a 42mm Mikuni.
We’ve fitted one of our Mikuni/S&S manifolds which puts the Mikuni back into the motor where it belongs. This is very helpful to custom and performance builders who otherwise have a lot of trouble fitting neat breather systems to Big Inch S&S headed motors running non S&S carbs. The polished Flo-Tec mounting bracket and Mega horn don’t look too bad, either.
